Glenn Memorial UMC’s Alternative Giving Catalog 2025
The 2025 Glenn Alternative Giving Catalog raised over $68,600 for programs and projects that reach people in need. Proceeds will provide education support for vulnerable children in faraway places, care for victims of war abroad, environmental stewardship here in Georgia, and food and shelter for the hungry and unhoused in Atlanta. Glenn has shown once again it cares.
Glenn readily met the wishes it set a year ago, so it set even bolder wishes for the 2025 Catalog. Again, proceeds topped all expectations, increasing by 17% the 2024 totals. Thanks to all who contributed to this effort, in time, funding, and prayer.
Numbers aside, here is what the results really mean for the each of the catalog entries:
· A Glenn Care Closet for local partners to draw supplies for ones in need;
· Expanded services in Ecuador’s Methodist parish schools for children exposed to social unrest;
· More scholarships for children served by the Cambodia Methodist Mission;
· Greater food security, health, education, peace and justice for millions served by Methodist global ministries;
· Environmental stewardship projects for youth led by Ga. Interfaith Power and Light;
· Continued monthly lunches and special meals at Lost n Found Youth and a much-needed commercial freezer;
· Greater budget stability for Snack in a Backpack in providing weekend food for vulnerable school children;
· Financial support for Trinity Community Ministries, which faces suspensions and reductions in federal grant funding;
· Funds for transition space for Trinity Table’s Sunday lunch program during Trinity UMC’s renovation;
· Uniforms for “Glenn scholars” at the Munyarari schools in rural Zimbabwe and a current project to enhance school quality: solar panels to electrify a well pump and tech labs.
