BSA Scouts

Scout Troop 18’s charter goes back to 1925, making them one of the first troops in DeKalb County. Glenn has sponsored Troop 18 for decades. Troop 18 prides itself on conducting 10 to 12 outings a year, including activities such as canoeing, hiking, camping, caving, climbing, skiing, and more. A child must be 11 years old and in the 5th grade to join a Scout Troop. Dues are $96 per year and scholarships are available. Meetings are held on Tuesday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Scout Hut behind the Glenn Youth and Activities Building (1669 North Decatur Road). For additional information, visit their website or contact Scoutmaster Donald Sprinkle.

Cub Scouts Pack 6 has been continuously chartered since 1940 and offers activities such as community service, camping, and the Pinewood Derby. Pack 6 is for any child age 5 to 10 (Kindergarten through 5th grades). Scholarships are available for the annual dues. For additional information about Pack 6, contact Cubmasters, Alan Miller (404-642-6229) or David Brown (404-697-4204).
