Words from Westmoreland: A Lenten Reflection of/on Psalm 102

Lord, here I am. Know me. Save me. You, who wear the stars like the latest season’s wardrobe, you, who hold all generations in your endless hour, will you remember me, whose days are few, whose life is a breath? Do you hear me, whose voice is a leaf shaking in a forest?

Lord, here we are, who call ourselves yours, trusting, hoping. Don’t forget us. You, whose moment holds all generations, in your eternal grace come now into our presence with lovingkindness. Show us the way of your will. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Lord, here I stand. I can do no other.

Lord, here we are, alone together, together alone.

In the stillness of this moment, you, whose Spirit moves over the face of the depths, you, who stir the cosmic winds, stir now our souls, we pray. Awaken your image within us.

We remember a promise: You, who are forever, are with us, blessing us with this day and each other.

You, who in one life embraced all lives, hold me and us now in your never-ending love. You, whose memory holds eternity, remember me and us in your never-ending now.

Amen.

We continue our Lenten journey together this Sunday, March 17, with the Rev. Dr. Don Saliers preaching.

In Christ,
