BSA Scouts
Scout Troop 18’s charter goes back to 1920, making them one of the first troops in DeKalb County. Glenn has sponsored Troop 18 since 1925. Troop 18 prides itself on conducting 10 to 12 outings a year, including activities such as canoeing, hiking, camping, caving, climbing, skiing, and more. A child must be 11 years old and in the 5th grade to join a Scout Troop. Dues are $120 per year and scholarships are available. Meetings are held on Tuesday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Scout Hut behind the Glenn Youth and Activities Building (1669 North Decatur Road). Cub Scouts Pack 6 has been continuously chartered since 1940 and offers activities such as community service, camping, and the Pinewood Derby. Pack 6 is for any child age 5 to 10 (Kindergarten through 5th grades). Scholarships are available for the annual dues. Girl Scouting
