Global - Missions
Missions at Glenn acts as the Hands and Feet outside our local area.
Currently, Glenn’s efforts are focused on improving the educational opportunities of children. We fund tuition and school building projects for over 100 children in Zimbabwe, Cambodia, and Honduras and are looking to expand to new regions.
Most recently, Glenn helped to fund the building of a girls dormitory in Cambodia. A team from Glenn attended the dedication in early 2015. They enjoyed learning more about Cambodian culture and getting to know the girls who will live in the dormitory.
Glenn is also in partnership with an organization called East Belfast Mission (EBM) in Northern Ireland. EBM has a very successful after school program, EBM Homework Club, for children aged 7-11. Glenn helps to support this program, enabling children in an economically deprived ward of Belfast to receive academic assistance, healthy snacks, emotional support, fun activities, and improvement with social skills.
During the summer months, Glenn Youth offer local, national, and international mission opportunities.
Glenn’s Mission Committee meets quarterly in room 401 of the Church School Building at 7:00 p.m. In 2017, they will meet April 25, August (date TBD), and October 24. All are welcome.
