Holy Grounds Cafe Sunday Mornings

Holy Grounds Cafe is Glenn Memorial’s coffee and treats time on Sunday mornings. Enjoy a cup of coffee & fellowship between 8:30 a.m. service and Sunday School.

Please consider providing nut free items such as a protein, something sweet and some fruit.  If you enjoy having a cup of coffee, conversation and a few snacks at Holy Grounds, please participate and sign up.

Prepare and Serve Lunch at the Trinity Table

We will need 10-12 volunteers (must be at least 13 years old) to help provide, prepare and serve a hot meal at Trinity Table.  We will be paired with the administrative staff at Action Ministries who will be responsible for to go meal bags and help with the serving. We are in need of food and monetary donations to purchase items that are perishable and more economical to purchase in bulk for the meal. Our menu will be a Sloppy Joe sandwich, coleslaw, potato salad, chips, fruit, lemonade and a sweet. Contact Diane Bryant for more information.

Visit The National Memorial for Peace and Justice and The Legacy Museum

Join with members of Glenn’s Racial Justice Caucus on Saturday, April 27 for a day trip to Montgomery, AL to experience The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, America’s first national memorial dedicated to the victims of racial terror lynching. The trip will also include a visit to The Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration. More info can be found here.

Blast off with the first VBS to land on Mars! To Mars and Beyond will help kids discover the wonders of God's universe. They'll become Voyagers on a journey through space, exploring where God's power can take them.

Glenn Environmental Committee Service Day at New Roots Community Garden

Please join the Glenn Environmental Committee service workday at the New Roots Community Garden located adjacent to North DeKalb Mall.  The garden is a project of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and helps recently resettled refugees to become self-sufficient through community gardening, nutrition education, and small-business farming. Please contact Lynn Speno to volunteer. All ages welcome. No skills or tools needed.  Just your enthusiasm for getting dirty! Great project for youth and Scout service hours!

Support Local Refugee Community at Memorial Drive Ministries on MLK Day

Join a group of Glenn members and other local organizations on MLK Day as we help restore the former Presbyterian Church buildings that are the new home of MDM. We'll work on cleaning out and mending the gutters around the campus (ladders and pressure washers are welcome!). We are also looking for a few folks to organize a snack and relax station for all the volunteers that day.

Christmas Eve Open Choir Rehearsal

Glenn's Music Ministry invites anyone interested to sing at the 5:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. services on Christmas Eve! A special rehearsal will be held following the 11:00 a.m. worship service to learn some new music and to spend time with those who are joining us from out of town! Cookies with Santa!

Santa is coming to Glenn! Join fellow Glenn School families to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. Reserve a spot to take photos with Santa, decorate cookies, & make holiday crafts. This will be a fun, festive afternoon for the whole family. Tickets are $12 per child or $30 max rate per family. Please bring your own camera. Cookies and crafts will be provided. Proceeds from Cookies with Santa will benefit the Glenn School for Young Children

Emory Cares International Service Day

Join Oxford College alumni, students, faculty, and staff as we volunteer to help the Newton County Foster Care program! We will pack donated toiletries into shoe boxes for Newton County Foster children. Donated items include: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, lip balm, sunblock, brushes, combs, hair accessories, tissue pack, socks, gift cards,coloring books. school supplies, playing cards, small games, comic books, note cards, books or magazines, small writing journals, and shoes boxes. We encourage you to bring your entire family! Children of all ages are welcome. Lunch will be provided. 

Please bring empty shoe boxes and any of the donations mentioned above.

Glenn Cheerleading

Open to 2nd through 6th graders

Glenn Cheerleading registration is NOW OPEN through Friday, Nov. 9th!  Our season runs in conjunction with Glenn Hoops.  Practices will be held in the Glenn Memorial UMC Ward Fellowship Hall Tuesday evenings, 6:00pm - 7:00pm starting November 14th. Games will be every Saturday, early afternoon (usually 2:00pm) in the Glenn Youth and Activities Building.

Fees
$150 for the season which includes white cheer shoes and red bow to keep; Glenn Cheer uniform (shell and skirt) and poms for the season.  You'll need to purchase black bloomers/shorts.
