When and Where
Services at Glenn have historically featured excellence in preaching and in choral and instrumental music. Our Sunday morning schedule includes services at 8:30 in The Little Chapel and at 11:00 in the Sanctuary. The same pastor usually preaches the same sermon at both services, with various choirs providing the music.
The 8:30 service in The Little Chapel is a smaller, less formal service for early risers. A nursery is available for children up to four years old. The chapel service feels like the gathering of a close-knit family of believers.
While larger and more formal, the 11:00 service in the sanctuary remains warm and friendly. This service primarily uses traditional music, liturgy, prayers, and creeds. It features our excellent chancel choir and the musical gifts of Emory University organist Dr. Timothy Albrecht. The service includes a “children’s sermon,” and childcare is provided for children up to four years old.
We celebrate communion at both services on the first Sunday of each month, and on special occasions such as Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. United Methodists celebrate the Lord’s Supper with an open table; all are welcome to receive communion with us. The university students in Emory Wesley Fellowship celebrate communion in their weekly worship service each Sunday night during the school year at 6:45 in The Little Chapel.
Kids in Worship Reminders
For your info and to share with visitors: Childcare in the Church School Building is provided for children 6 weeks old through Kindergarten during our 8:30 am and 11:00 am Sunday Worship. Pre-K & Kindergarten children now join us in 11:00 am worship for the opening hymn and Children's Sermon. They return to Extended Care with childcare workers and are signed out as usual after the service ends. A Comfort Room is now available in the Bride's Room on the bottom floor (the back stairwell under the balcony) with a changing table, rocking chair, single restroom, and comforting space.
