The 24/7 Gateway Center

The Gateway Center is the point of entry to the community’s continuum of care created to help homeless individuals. This point of entry is a “triage center” for homelessness. It include shelter, toilets, showers, a laundry, food and water, a place to come in from the elements and rest, limited temporary storage for personal belongings, telephones, general information, and referral resources. Gateway can provide immediate emergency shelter and then will work with the client to find temporary and then permanent housing.

Decatur Cooperative Ministry Hagar’s House

Hagar’s House provides emergency shelter and support services for women with children.

Clifton Sanctuary Ministries

Clifton Sanctuary provides shelter, showers, meals, and clothing for men. The office is staffed from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 6:00 to 10:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The Open Door Community provides breakfasts and soup-kitchen lunches; showers and changes of clothes; and a free medical clinic. The community is open Sunday through Thursday. Call for the number above for the current schedule of services.

Atlanta Emergency Aid provides emergency assistance to people who need help with rent, utilities, food, counseling and referrals. The Women’s Community Kitchen provides weekday lunches for women and children.

 

Dekalb Rape Crisis Center

The Rape Crisis Center assists victims of sexual assault.

 

The Georgia Center for Children

The Georgia Center for Children assists children and families that need to report or have experienced child sexual abuse.

Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence
