2011 Vacation Bible School Mission:  Snack in a Backpack!

Glenn Memorial UMC's Snack in a Backpack program feeds hungry children at Cook & Mary Lin Elementary Schools year round.

At a cost of about $6 a child, every Friday afternoon we provide children identified by parents and/or teachers as not getting enough to eat on the weekends with a backpack filled with nutritious milk, fresh fruit, breakfast, two main courses, snacks & desserts.

A donation of $30 will fill the backpack of one child for the summer school program! Our goal is to have every Shake It Up Café Lil’ Chef help feed another child – which would raise $5,000 from VBS alone! 

We also would love to have your help in packing the backpacks each Thursday at 7:00pm in Glenn's Fellowship Hall (aka Shake It Up Café).  You do not have to make a reservation in advance & children of all ages are welcome!
