Deck the Halls! Advent Wreath-Making

Glenn welcomes the Advent season with a special evening filled with decorating Advent wreaths, making ornaments for the Glenn Family Christmas tree, singing carols and decorating cookies. Bring your greenery and a donation for wreath supplies.

Peace, Joy, Hope, and Love. These four words are common themes of the Advent season. As we await the coming of the Prince of Peace, join us to more deeply explore the meaning of peace in our personal lives, within our relationships, throughout our communities, and around the world.

A Service of Lessons and Carols: “Lo, He Comes with Clouds and Descending”

Sunday, December 10, 11:00 am. with opening music beginning at 10:30 a.m.
With Advent lessons chosen specifically for our service, read by children, youth, and adults, our Cherub, Carol, Covenant, Altar, Chapel, and Chancel Choirs—some 100 of our singers—accompanied by trumpet, timpani and organ, will offer carols and anthems and all will sing: “Hallelujah, Everlasting God, come down!" by Charles Wesley.
 

Glenn School Event - Cookies with Santa

Sunday, December 10, 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Santa is coming to Glenn! Join fellow Glenn School families to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. Reserve a spot to take photos with Santa, decorate cookies, make holiday crafts, and sing carols. This will be a fun, festive afternoon for the whole family. Tickets are $12 per child or $30 max rate per family. Buy them here. Please bring your own camera. Cookies and crafts will be provided. Proceeds from Cookies with Santa will benefit the Glenn School for Young Children.

Cherub Choir Nativity Pageant and Carol Sing

Wednesday, December 13, 6:30 p.m., Ward Hall (with supper at 5:30 p.m.)
This is arguably the most delightful night of the season: our Cherub Choir Nativity pageant, directed by Mary Lindsey Lewis. With much laughter and levity, Glenn’s four and five-year-olds bring the story of the first Christmas to life!

In the Bleak Midwinter: A Service of Grief & Hope

Thursday, December 21, 7:00 p.m., The Little Chapel
Is all the hustle and bustle of this Season too much to bear? Many of us have struggles in our lives that make being jolly and merry the farthest things from our hearts and minds. Whether you are grieving, stressed, or lonely, there is hope in the midst of all things. Join us on one of winter's longest night to find comfort and hope in the midst of this season. Nursery provided.
 

Christmas Eve Services

Sunday, December 24, 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

The Christmas Story at 5:00 p.m.: This long-time community favorite portrays the Christmas story in drama and song, with angels, shepherds, wise men, and the Holy Family. For people of all ages. A carol sing begins at 4:30 p.m. Childcare for infants through 4-years.

Candlelight Communion Service at 11:00 p.m.: Pre-service music by the Glenn Chamber Choir and Organist Laureate Dr. Timothy Albrecht, directed by Dr. Steven Darsey, begins at 10:30 p.m.
 

Epiphany Party

Join us for Wednesday Night Supper at 5:30 p.m., Party at 6:30 p.m. Don your royal attire as young and old re-enact the Magi’s (wise men's) journey to bring gifts to the Christ Child. Please bring donations of baby supplies for Grady Hospital. All ages are welcome! Nursery provided.
